There is nothing structurally wrong with the throwing shoulder of St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jaime Garcia.
This was the best case scenario after Garcia felt discomfort in his left shoulder over the weekend. After two exams nothing structurally wrong was found by the Cardinals or Dr. James Andrews. The Cardinals will have him receive a cortisone injection and will re-evaluate him.
Jaime Garcia diagnosed with left shoulder inflammation; will have cortisone shot today. #stlcards will then reevaluate his status day-by-day

Garcia has made just 29 starts over the last two seasons. The Cardinals are hoping to have Garcia fill a spot at the backend of the rotation. The left hander has proven to be more than capable when healthy.
