Kevin Youkilis was limited to just 28 games last season as a member of the New York Yankees but Brian Cashman gave his agent a call anyways.
Cashman was told that Youkilis was seeking to finish out his career near his home in California. Set to turn 35 in March the infielder will not receive much more than a one-year offer from any interested clubs.
Cashman called Youkilis’s agent to gauge interest in returning to Yankees. Youkilis appreciated call, but wants to play near home in Cali.

The Yankees will have to look elsewhere for infield help in the wake of Robinson Cano signing with Seattle and questions surrounding the future of Alex Rodriguez.
Youkilis had just a .219/.305/.343 line last season with two home runs and eight RBI over 105 at-bats.
