Los Angeles Dodgers Yasiel Puig was pulled from the fifth inning of Wednesday’s game against the Chicago Cubs because he “wasn’t ready on defense” for every pitch.
The 22-year-old told reporters he understood manager Don Mattingly’s decision to pull him from the game.

The Dodgers will welcome Puig back to the starting lineup for the start of their series against San Diego but incidents like this are sure giving his detractors plenty of fire power.
Puig is hitting .346/.406/.557 with 13 home runs in his first 76 major league games after going 0-for-1 with a walk.
