If Jair Jurrjens is to return to the major league level it will not be with the Baltimore Orioles.

On Thursday the 27-year-old lefty elected for free agency ending his stint with the clubs Triple-A affiliate.

Jurrjens appeared in two games at the major league level pitching a total of 7 1/3 innings while allowing four runs.

His numbers at Triple-A Norfolk were mixed. In 16 starts he pitched 94 2/3 innings with a 4.18 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP.

Signed to a minor league deal in the offseason the Orioles were hoping that Jurrjens would provide rotation depth. He previously pitched for the Atlanta Braves but injuries and then poor production in 2012 led to them non-tendering him last winter.
