A black Honda Civic going the wrong way down Interstate 295 struck a bus carrying members of a Minnesota Twins minor league team.
The crash took place at 4:30 a.m. and shut down I-295 just past Pritchard Road in Jacksonville, FL.
Thirty players and a coach were aboard the bus for the Twins minor league affiliate in the Appalachian League. The Elizabethton Twins had been training at the Twins complex in Fort Myers, FL and were headed home to open the season in Elizabethton, TN.
The driver of the Civic, was killed in the crash, has not been identified at this point. Investigators are trying to determine if alcohol was involved.
