Roy Oswalt would love to pitch for Phillies

Roy Oswalt’s name was unheard of for most of the offseason but that does not mean that the 35-year-old would not pitch again.

Oswalt wrote on his Twitter account on Monday that he would “love to come back to Philly.”

The right hander spent parts of two seasons as a member of the Phillies before signing a contract mid-season with the Texas Rangers in 2012. Oswalt had the worst season of his career lastyear appearing in 17 games and posting a 5.80 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP.

There could be an opening in Philadelphia for a player such as Oswalt if Roy Halladay continues to struggle. The two-time Cy Young winner struggled in his second start of the year and is 0-2 with a 14.73 ERA to start the season.

Any deal with Oswalt would likely be for the the minimum salary with incentives.
