Scott Kazmir signed a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians. After pitching well to start spring training, Kazmir had a bad outing on Saturday.

Locked into a battle for the fifth roster spot on the Indians, Kazmir allowed five runs over five innings of work against Seattle. In the outing Kazmir struck out five, walked none but gave up an astonishing 13 hits.

Prior to Saturday Kazmir had not allowed a run in eight innings of work. He had allowed only five hits during that span.

Carlos Carrasco is his competition for the final rotation spot on the Indians. Carrasco has a 6.00 ERA in 18 innings of work this spring.
