Angels avoid arbitration with Jerome Williams

Jerome Williams and the Los Angeles Angels have avoided arbitration agreeing on a one-year contract that will play the right-hander $2 million in 2013.

Williams was used as a swingman last season appearing in 32 total games while starting 15. He finished the season with a 6-8 record and a 4.58 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP over 137 2/3 innings.

He figures to be used in much the same role next season with the bullpen figuring to be his initial gig.
