Bruce Chen will play for China in WBC


Kansas City Royals starter Bruce Chen will become the first MLB player to play for China in the World Baseball Classic. Chen pitched for the Panamanian team during the 2006 and 2009 WBC.

The 2013 World Baseball Classic will take place from March 2-19. AT&T Park in San Francisco will host the championship round.

Chen has played for 10 different teams in his 13-year career, though he has spent the last five years with the Kansas City Royals. Chen had an a 11-14 record with a 5.07 ERA in 2012.
