Veteran NASCAR driver Mike Harmon denied to reporters that he knew the whereabouts of Jennifer Jo Cobb’s racing trailer. However, the story that the 55-year-old Harmon gave to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office was considerably different.

Cobb’s hauler which transports the Camping World Truck Series team’s racing equipment and vehicles, was stolen May 11. The theft is part of an ongoing dispute between Cobb and former business partner David Novak. Cobb and Novak were romantically involved before they stopped working together.

“I guess her hauler is gone but she does not have no video of me because I was on my way back from Darlington,” Harmon said after the theft of Cobb’s trailer was reported. “The truth has got to come out. It’s not me.”’

As Sporting News reports, when Harmon met with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office he indicated he knew where the trailer was and would return it if it was not returned to Cobb according to a probable cause affidavit.

Harmon never delivered the trailer.

The detective in the affidavit says “I called Mr. Harmon and he stated he had changed his mind and was prepared to be arrested if necessary.”

According to the affidavit, Carl Long told the detective that he drove Harmon’s semi back from Darlington arriving at Harmon’s shop at 1:30 a.m. and that Harmon instructed him to leave the keys inside the truck.

Survalience video released from Cobb’s shop shows a black semi which matches Harmon’s according to the detective.

The hauler and its contents are worth $279,000.

Cobb did not compete in the most recent truck series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway after she noticed a problem with her engine in practice. Harmon finished 36th in the race.

Charles Woodson will continue his NFL career where it started. The veteran defensive back has signed a one-year deal with the Oakland Raiders.

Woodson, 36, spent the first eight years of his NFL career with Oakland before joining the Packers.

The Denver Broncos also showed interest in the former NFL defensive player of the year. While Denver may have offered a better shot at another Super Bowl ring, Woodson was said to be intrigued about finishing his career where it started.

Woodson’s deal with the Raiders is for one year and at-least $1.8 million. He can make up to $4.3 million in the deal if he reaches a series of hard-to-reach incentives.

Titans quarterback Jake Locker said that his surgically-repaired shoulder has not given him any problems.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday the 24-year-old expressed some excitement about getting back to normal.

“I don’t know a whole lot about it as far as if it’s supposed to be better or stronger, but I can tell you it feels better and just the same as it did before I got hurt,” Locker said, via 247 Sports. “I haven’t had any problems with it. I haven’t had any moments with it where, I’m like, ‘Aw, man, I can feel that,’ or ‘it slipped a little bit.’ It feels great. It feels normal and I’m excited about that.”

Locker separated his shoulder in the Titans season opener against New England and dealt with it all year long.

“We still have a lot of work to do and that’s gonna be important for us the rest of these OTAs and mini-camps and then in fall camp,” Locker said. “There’s gonna have to be an emphasis on continuing to study and continuing to mentally grind so that you’re able to go out and compete at a high level and a fast speed. If we are able to do that, then this can be a really talented offense.”

When Neal Cotts pitches for the Texas Rangers it will be his first big league pitches since the 2009. The talented but injury prone left hander is being called up in the wake of a roster shuffle that started when the Rangers designated Derek Lowe for assignment.

Cotts, 33, has been called up prior to Tuesday game against Oakland. This year Cotts has pitched 23 innings for Triple-A Round Rock where he has compiled a 0.78 ERA and a 42/5 K/BB ratio.

The Charlotte Hornets will be in the NBA once more. Charlotte Bobcat owner Michael Jordan announced on Tuesday at a press conference that he had informed the NBA of his decision to change the teams name to Hornets.

Jordan’s announcement on Tuesday was hardly news but rather confirmation of news that began spreading two days ago.

Charlotte will continue to play as the Bobcats next season but if all goes as Jordan plans his team will become the Hornets in time for the 2014-15 season.

“We spoke to our season ticket holders and fans, and overwhelmingly you guys wanted Hornets name back,” Jordan said. “And we went out and brought the name back.”

Pete Geulli, Charlotte’s executive vice president and chief sales marketing officer, estimated the cost of changing the name to the Hornets will cost about $4 million. He added, however, that the decision wasn’t based on money and that “nothing was going to keep us from going down this road because this is what the fans wanted.”

Previously the Hornets played in Charlotte from 1988-2002 before moving to New Orleans. The team recently changed their name to Pelicans.
