Sage Karam to run select races with Alpha Prime Racing

Alpha Prime Racing will expand to two full-time entries in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2022.

Sage Karam, 26, will compete in select races for the team after appearing in four Xfinity Series and a Camping World Truck Series race for Jordan Anderson Racing.

Karam has also competed in 24 IndyCar events over the past eight seasons scoring a career best finish of third at Iowa in 2015. In his lone start last season he ran the Indianapolis 500, finishing seventh.

“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunities that 2021 provided and am equally as excited to join Alpha Prime Racing for 2022,” said Karam.

“I can’t thank Tommy Joe Martins enough for his trust and confidence heading into this season. I welcome the opportunity to learn from him and his team and look forward to competing against some of the toughest competition in motorsports.”

Karam will make his 2022 debut at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 19.

Alpha Prime Racing plans to have co-owners Tommy Joe Martins and Caesar Bacarella compete in races in addition to Andy Lally, Ryan Ellis, Rajah Caruth and Karam.
