Tim Boyle will start for Lions in Week 11

The Lions will start 27-year-old Tim Boyle under center in their Week 11 matchup against the Browns.

Boyle gets the start for the Lions with Jared Goff out with a oblique injury. Previously Boyle saw regular season action with the Packers backing up Aaron Rodgers where he had a few knee downs.

At Connecticut Boyle was 133-for-275 throwing one touchdown pass and 13 interceptions over a three year period (2013-2015). He had 49 rushes for -122 yards.

After transferring to Eastern Kentucky for 2017 Boyle made 12 appearances throwing for 2,134 yards to lead the Ohio Valley Conference while notching 11 touchdowns against 13 interceptions. He had 19 rushes for -40 yards with a long of 7.

Without much in the form of offensive weapons and a Browns defense which can be good at-times, there is not a lot of optimism around Boyle’s start. The Lions are 12.5 point underdogs as they enter the game 0-8-1.
