Denny Hamlin led 146 laps on Sunday night. Most importantly the driver of the No. 11 Toyota Camry led the final one of the 367 lap race earning his first win of the 2021 season.
Hamlin’s first win of the year also took place in the NASCAR Cup Series playoff opener meaning the Joe Gibbs Racing driver will now move into the round of 12.
Kyle Larson finished second with Ross Chastain, the first driver not in the playoffs, third.
Several playoff drivers had trouble on Sunday night with Michael McDowell, Kyle Busch, William Byron, Chase Elliott, Alex Bowman, Ryan Blaney and Christopher Bell all finishing 20th or worse.
