The name and number for the new NASCAR Cup Series team headed up by basketball icon Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin was announced on Thursday.
Jordan and Hamlin’s venture into the Cup Series will be called 23XI Racing, with the entry driven by Bubba Wallace next season to be the No. 23 car.
“Michael and I have a shared vision for this team, so it’s exciting to see it reflected in the team name and on the race car with the iconic No. 23 that Michael made famous,” said Hamlin.
The newly formed team will first hit the track during Daytona Speedweeks in February 2021.
