Cowboys add running options late with Randle and Lawrence

The Dallas Cowboys waited until Joseph Randle and the 151th pick before taking a running back in the 2013 draft. After the draft they added undrafted free agent Kendial Lawrence.

While at Oklahoma State the 6-foot ball Randle ran for 3,085 yards and 40 touchdowns. He also fared well catching out of the backfield adding 108 receptions. It is unclear how much the wide-open offense of Oklahoma State led to those stats and his 4.63 forty during the combine does not bode well for his NFL future.

The chances of Lawrence making an impact in Dallas are long. He will enter camp behind Randle, Lance Dunbar, Phillip Tanner for the job of backing up DeMarco Murray. While at Missouri the 5-for-8 talent ran 200 times for 1,025 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior. At Missouri’s Pro Day he ran a 4.33 forty.
