Hornish remains unsigned for 2013

Despite Roger Penskes comments that he wants to have Sam Hornish run a full time ride in the Nationwide Series no deal has been signed.

Hornish is driving the No. 12 Dodge in the Nationwide Series this year. Currently he is fourth in the overall driver standings but he has not won a race this season.

Hornish took over driving the No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Dodge at the Sprint Cup level in July. Penske Racing hired Joey Logano to take over that seat next season.

“I don’t have any paper in my hand saying what’s going to happen next year,” said Hornish. “I know Roger’s been out there (in the media) saying he’d like to have me back, but we’ll just have to wait and see how everything plays out. We’ve got some really good sponsors and we’re moving forward on some other ones, but it’s a really tough time with the economy.”

Penske Racing will switch manufactures to Ford next year. The team currently has two Sprint Cup and two Nationwide Series teams.
