Denny Hamlin wins at New Hampshire

Denny Hamlin won the second race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series this year by cruising to a win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The winner of the second Chase race has won the NASCAR Sprint Cup the last three seasons.

Despite starting 28th, Hamlin made his way up to take the lead from teammate Kyle Busch by lap 93.

Hamlin lead the most laps in the event and finished ahead of Jimmie Johnson who became the series points leader.

Jeff Gordon was third after starting on the pole.

Hamlin ran out of gas on the final lap of last weeks race at Chicagoland Speedway, he lost seven positions in that race.

After the race Hamlin pointed towards the stands before swinging his arms as if to swing a bat. The win his Hamlin’s third in the last five races. The win was also the 100th win for Joe Gibbs racing at the Sprint Cup level.

Johnson has a one point lead over Keselowski and leads Hamlin by seven.
