Cole Whitt to Drive No. 33 Cup Car at Chicagoland

Cole Whitt will drive the the No. 33 Chevrolet for Circle Sport LLC this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway. It will be the fourth appearance in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series this season for Whitt. He had driven Stacey Compton’s No. 74 for three start and park appearances.

The No. 33 car will have sponsorship from Little Joes Autos during Sunday’s GEICO 400.

Whitt, 21, has been driving the No. 88 car for JR Motorsports in the Nationwide Series.

Tony Glover, the three-time Daytona 500 championship crew chief credited with 14 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victories, will continue to lead the #33 Circle Sport team. Stephen Leicht, who is leading the 2012 Sprint Cup Series Rookie-of-the-Year standings, will return to the seat of the #33 Circle Sport Chevy next week at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
