Scott Speed Will Race Full Time in Sprint Cup Series in 2013

Scott Speed is returning to full time action. Next season Speed will drive the No. 95 Ford of Leavine Family Racing (LFR) full time in the Sprint Cup Series. Speed has been driving part time for the team this season. The announcement came on NASCAR Race Hub on Speed.

During the segment the 29 year old talked about adjustments in his life as he transitioned into being a father. He also talked about the growth of LFR noting that the team recently hired a marking and PR representative.

There are ten events left on the schedule for LFR to compete in at the Sprint Cup level. The team plans to run at Watkins Glen, Bristol, Atlanta, Chicagoland, New Hampshire, Dover, Charlotte, Kansas, Martinsville and Texas.

Speed has made eight starts this season in the No. 95. His best finish is a twenty-fifth at the Sonoma road course. Speed is on the entry list for this weekends race at Watkins Glen. With only fourty three cars on the entry list, Speed is guaranteed to make the race.

Speed is also starting and parking The Motorsports Group No. 47 car in the Nationwide Series.

In 2011 Speed served as a start and park driver. He drove the No. 46 for Whitney Motorsports and the No. 37 of Larry Gunselman. Prior to that Speed had driven for Redbull Racing.
