NASCAR teams lend hand to help find missing girls

This weekend two NASCAR teams are lending a hand in efforts to find missing girls from Iowa. The No. 43 Nationwide car of Richard Petty Motorsports and the No. 83 and No. 93 of BK Racing will “feature pictures and endangered missing information on Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins on the deck lid and C-posts this weekend.”

Elizabeth and Lyric were last seen riding their bicycles on July 13, 2012. Their bikes and Elizabeth’s purse were found near Meyers Lake in Evansdale, Iowa.

The No. 43 car is driven by Michael Annett in the Nationwide Series and will compete for the victory and $100K in the Dash4Cash program at Iowa. Annett won last weeks Dash 4 Cash by virtue of his sixth place finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This is the final week of the program.

The No. 83 of Landon Cassill and No. 93 of Travis Kvapil will compete in the Sprint Cup race at Pocono Raceway. Both cars are locked into the field and will race on Sunday at the Pennsylvania 400.

Anyone having information on the two girls should contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST or the Evansdale Police Department (Iowa) at 319-232-6682.
