Bayne’s Daytona 500 car donted to Ford Museum

The Ford Fusion in which Trevor Bayne drove to victory in the 2011 Daytona 500 has been donated to the Henry Ford Museum. Fans will be able to see the car as the visit the museum located in Dearborn, Michigan. The car which is owned by the Wood Brothers had spent the last year housed at Daytona International Speedway.

The victory was the first in the Sprint Cup career of Bayne who was making just his second start at NASCAR’s top level.  The car which was driven by Bayne was built with a Roush Yates engine with many of it’s parts coming from Roush Fenway Racing. Bayne struggled at the Sprint Cup level during the rest of his starts last season and even missed time while dealing with Lyme disease.

The 2012 Daytona 500 was won by a Ford also as Matt Kenseth captured his second victory in the event.
