Rusty Wallace Racing will not close doors

A few days ago it was said that Rusty Wallace was willing to put his Nationwide effort “into mothballs” if need be. Now it appears Wallace is backing off of that statement a bit saying that he is working with other sponsors for the 2012 season.

Wallace says he’s put too much of his own money into the project but isn’t seeking sympathy because “90% of the garage area has this problem and my situation is no different.” (SceneDaily)

Michael Annett will also return to Rusty Wallace Racing next season since he has been successful in bringing sponsorship to the organization. Wallace still believes he can provide his son Steven with a full-time ride but may have to cut it to a partial season if enough sponsorship is not signed.

Currently the younger Wallace is 8th in the Nationwide standings with two top-5’s and five top-10’s. Annett is 11 points behind him in 10th place and has six top-10’s on the season.
