Treats for Bowyer and RCR

Clint Bowyer came home with the checkered flag after NASCAR had to turn to scoring loop data and video replays following a last lap crash towards the back of the pack. Bowyer’s teammate, Kevin Harvick led the field to the white flag but was over taken as the cars were coming to turn 2.

The win was Bowyer’s second of the season. He had previously won at New Hampshire but was later docked 150 points after NASCAR cited an out of regulation rear end. Earlier in race Bowyer made contact with the rear end of the #47 of Marcos Ambrose who spun and made contact with nose of Harvick.

Points leader Jimmie Johnson finished 7th, one spot ahead of second place in the points Denny Hamlin. Hamlin lost a lap early in the event but got back on the lead lap thanks to a luck dog caution later in the event.

Johnson extended his lead to 10 points over Hamlin with his finish but allowed Harvick to pull within 33 points.
