Moylan avoids arbitration, Pirates claim Jones

Sports - December 09, 2007Peter Moylan and the Atlanta Braves avoided arbitration when the two agreed on a one-year deal worth $1.15 million. He made 87 appearances out of the pen last season with a 2.84 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP. He figures to again be an integral part of the bullpen this season.

Also it was announced today that the Pittsburgh Pirates were the team that will get the services of Brandon Jones this season. Jones had been designated for assignment to make room for Eric Hinske. He spent most of last season in Triple-A finishing with a .281/.360/.419 line with 7 homers and 57 RBI. Best of luck to him to showing something there that he never quite seemed to show while in our system.
